How 888JILI Reviews: The Method Behind a New-Release Desk

This site is a review desk, which makes a published method less optional than usual. If we describe a new release or an operator, you are entitled to know what was examined and what was simply not knowable. This page sets that out, including the parts that limit what we can claim. There are no scores and no ranked operator tables here. 888JILI is an independent guide and not a casino: no deposits, no games, no funds held, 21 and over only.

Two Kinds of Review, Two Kinds of Evidence

A new game and an operator are not reviewed the same way, and conflating them is how review desks end up overstating things. A game has a published specification from its supplier: a return figure, a volatility description, a maximum win, a set of mechanics. Those can be cited and checked.

An operator has no specification. It has published statements, which can be read for specificity and consistency, and it has silences, which are also informative. So operator pages get a procedure rather than a measurement, and this page is that procedure.

The Criteria for an Operator

CriterionThe question behind itA thin answer looks like
Licence disclosureWhich regulator, and which licensed entity?A footer badge with no company name and nothing to verify
Payment railsWhich methods, what limits, whose fees, which currency?Icons only, with limits revealed after you commit
Terms clarityAre wagering, expiry, max conversion and exclusions plain and dated? An offer whose conditions sit elsewhere, undated
KYC rulesWhat is asked, and when?Verification first mentioned once a withdrawal is pending
Complaint routeIs there a path past the chat bubble?Chat only, no email, no reference numbers
Responsible-gaming toolsCan you limit, cool off or self-exclude inside the account?Advice about moderation with no controls attached
Support channelsCan you reach a person, and when?Unstated hours, one channel, no response expectation
App distribution honestyIs the operator straight about how its app reaches you?Files promoted through chat apps and social posts

How a New Release Is Assessed

For a game, we work from what the supplier publishes and from the rules visible in the game itself. That gives real information, and it has a hard edge we do not cross.

  • The published return figure, cited as a long-run design figure rather than a prediction about a session.
  • The published volatility description, which tells you about the shape of outcomes, not their direction.
  • The maximum win, as a multiple of stake, which is a ceiling and not an expectation.
  • The mechanics: how a feature triggers, what the paytable shows, how bet levels work.
  • What the game does not disclose, which is often the most useful line in a review.

What we never do is claim a result from play. Nobody can establish a slot's real return from a session, a day, or a month of spinning, and a review that reports "we played and it paid well" is reporting noise with a byline attached.

What We Cannot Establish

  • Payout speed at any operator, which depends on the operator and your verification status. We publish no figure.
  • Minimums, maximums, fees and bonus amounts, which the operator sets and changes without notice. Check the cashier page on the day.
  • Measured return for any game, for the reasons above.
  • Whether a particular complaint was handled fairly, since only one side reaches us.
  • Anything requiring us to have deposited and played. We make no "we tested it" claims and hold no accounts for that purpose.

Why There Is No Score

A new-release desk is exactly where scores do the most damage, because a number attached to a game gets quoted as if it described how the game will treat you. It cannot. The published specification describes long-run design, and your session is not the long run.

So we describe mechanics and conditions instead, and we do not rank operators at all. The criteria above take about ten minutes to run yourself on any site, and the aim is that our opinion becomes the least load-bearing part of the page.

Funding, and Its Boundaries

Some links on this site may be partner links, paying a commission if you open an account after following one. That is how the site is funded, and it belongs on a page of its own.

It buys nothing editorial. No criterion is relaxed, no warning deleted, no placement sold, and no operator or supplier sees a review before publication or holds a right of reply. A new release does not get a softer write-up because of a commercial relationship, and if one ever required that, we would end the relationship.

Corrections, Dates and Authorship

  1. Pages carry a published and a modified date, and the modified date moves only for changes of substance.
  2. When a supplier revises a specification or an operator changes a term, the page is corrected rather than quietly written around.
  3. Operator-specific numbers are replaced with an instruction to check the source, because that is the only wording that stays true.
  4. Pages come from the 888JILI editorial desk, with no invented bylines, photographs or biographies attached.
  5. Evidence that something here is wrong changes the page, and nothing else does.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you rate games and operators out of ten?

No. For games we describe published specifications and mechanics; for operators we publish criteria and findings. A score attached to a game gets read as a prediction about your session, which it can never be.

Where do your RTP and max-win figures come from?

From the game supplier's published specifications. They are long-run design figures and ceilings, not expectations for a session.

Do you play the new releases you review?

We describe mechanics and published specifications, and we do not claim results from play. Nobody can establish a game's real return from any realistic amount of spinning.

Are the links on this site paid?

Some may pay a commission if you open an account after following them. That funds the site and changes nothing in the text; no operator or supplier previews a review.

Why no payout-speed figure for operators?

Because it depends on the operator and your own verification status. Any single number would be wrong for someone, so we point at the operator's stated processing window.

Who writes these reviews?

The 888JILI editorial desk. We would rather carry no byline than a fictional reviewer with a stock photograph.
